Before you enter
These terms apply when you use WitDuel.
These Terms govern the WitDuel public website, hosted tester, mobile test builds and connected services. WitDuel is a Witlio project operated from Iceland. By creating an account, joining a test or using the game, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
You must be legally able to agree to these Terms. If you are below the age of legal majority where you live, a parent or guardian must approve your use.
Closed-beta status
Features, questions, scoring, ratings, progression, access and stored test data may be corrected, reset, limited or removed as the beta develops. We will avoid unnecessary resets and communicate material tester-facing changes when practical.
Beta access is limited, revocable and does not guarantee a place in a later test or public release. The service may contain defects or be unavailable. Feedback is welcome, but no feature request or suggestion creates an obligation to implement it.
Accounts and access
- Use an account you are authorized to use and keep access to your Google account secure.
- Provide a display name and profile choices that are not deceptive, abusive, illegal or infringing.
- Do not sell, transfer, share or automate access to a tester account.
- Tell support promptly if you believe your WitDuel access has been compromised.
Google and Firebase manage authentication. WitDuel does not receive your Google password.
Fair play and acceptable use
You may use WitDuel for personal testing and play. You may not:
- cheat, coordinate answers during a live contest, manipulate timing or scores, exploit bugs, or misrepresent results;
- use bots, scripts, scraping, reverse engineering or automated requests except tools expressly provided for testing;
- interfere with matchmaking, repeatedly abandon matches to disrupt others, evade restrictions, or overload the service;
- harass, threaten, impersonate or expose personal information about another person;
- copy or redistribute the question bank, visual assets, software or private beta material beyond what law permits;
- use the service for unlawful, fraudulent or commercial activity without written permission.
We may void results, restrict matchmaking, suspend access or remove an account when reasonably necessary to protect players, test integrity or the service. Serious or repeated abuse may lead to permanent removal.
Scores, ratings and virtual progression
Scores, XP, ranks, ratings, streaks, badges, titles, rewards and similar items are virtual game records. They have no cash value, are not property, cannot be sold or transferred, and may be adjusted to correct errors, cheating or balance problems.
Server records control official outcomes. A lost connection does not necessarily stop a live timer. Forfeits, timeouts, question corrections and beta resets are handled under the current game rules.
Your profile, reports and feedback
You keep any rights you have in text you submit, such as a display name, report comment or feedback. You give WitDuel a limited, worldwide, royalty-free permission to store, reproduce, review and use that material only as needed to operate, moderate, secure and improve the service.
Do not submit confidential information, passwords, authentication tokens, unlawful content or material you do not have permission to provide.
Third-party services
Authentication, hosting, test distribution, updates and notifications rely on providers such as Google, Firebase, Neon, Render, Cloudflare, Expo, Google Play and Apple. Their own terms and privacy practices apply when you use their services. Store or TestFlight access may also be subject to platform-specific testing rules.
WitDuel content and ownership
WitDuel and its licensors retain rights in the software, questions, artwork, audio, branding, layouts and game systems. These Terms grant only a limited, personal, non-exclusive, revocable right to use the beta as intended.
Changes, availability and ending access
We may modify, pause or discontinue all or part of the beta, change eligibility or testing capacity, or end an account for breach of these Terms. You may stop using the service and withdraw from beta communications at any time. You can permanently delete your account in the app or follow the public deletion guide if you cannot access it.
Responsibility and legal limits
WitDuel is provided on a closed-beta, “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, no promise is made that the beta will be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for a particular purpose.
To the extent permitted by law, WitDuel and its operator are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from beta use, loss of virtual progression, unavailable service or third-party platforms. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Governing rules
These Terms are governed by the laws of Iceland, without removing mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. Disputes should first be raised through support so there is a reasonable opportunity to resolve them.
Updates and contact
These Terms may be updated as the beta changes. Material updates receive a revised effective date and, where appropriate, notice through the site or app. Continuing to use the service after an update means the updated Terms apply from their effective date.
